A substance intended for use in applying, rubbing, massaging, sprinkling, spraying, dropping, putting on, perfuming, or acting by whatever means on the external human body and shall include the use of tooth and oral mucosa with the objective of cleaning, beautifying, or changing the appearance or deodorizing or protecting such parts in good condition, and as well as a skin treatment product, but not include adornment and dress which is an accessory for use on the external body;
A substance intended for use specifically as a mixture in producing cosmetic products.
All imported specialized controlled cosmetics and controlled cosmetics require FDA notification before being imported in Thailand. Once the products are launched in the market, FDA supervises and monitors cosmetics products in mainly 5 different areas which are Inspection, Market surveillance, Advertisement investigation, and Adverse product reaction surveillance
The import permit or information receipt is issued by the Cosmetic division of the Thai FDA. Once issued it is valid for the period of 3 years from the date of issue.
